Lonato del Garda (BS) Italy and Oslo Norway, July 7, 2023

From July 8th to 17th, the 2023 edition of the ISSF WORLD CUP SHOTGUN will take place at the Concaverde International Shooting Range in Lonato del Garda (BS), Italy. The international event organized by FITAV (Italian Clay Pigeon Shooting Federation) and Trap Concaverde will see the participation of the most famous and esteemed athletes in the world, providing moments of entertainment and education.

In fact, on July 10th, starting at 11:00 am, within the space provided by CASA FITAV, a series of talks on the topic of Digital Communication and the overall digital evolution of this sport will be held. In this context, Travision AS will present ClayTracer, an application that uses Artificial Intelligence technologies to track the clay pigeon and automatically determine the shooting result. The shooting images, trajectory, and fragment details are displayed on a large screen and streamed. The result is then communicated in real time to the leaderboard without the need for manual intervention by a judge. All of this provides complementary support to the organization of the competition, the arbitration team, and, last but not least, enhances the visual enjoyment of the sport.

On July 14th, at 5:30 pm, on field 6, where ClayTracer is installed, it will be possible to witness a live Olympic trap competition, where Travision will demonstrate this innovative application. We invite athletes, coaches, industry professionals, and, of course, spectators to attend this event.

«I have been following Travision since its first pilot installation here at Concaverde. I was impressed by how a machine can accurately understand and judge the shooting outcome. Moreover, it is possible to review the images in case of doubts in competitions where a federal judge’s presence is currently required. I am also convinced that ClayTracer will be able to provide important performance and data for the improvement of athletes’ techniques, making the sport more engaging and accessible,» says Ivan Carella, General Manager of Concaverde Shooting Range.

Simen Løkka, CEO of Travision AS, emphasizes: «Ivan and Concaverde have been crucial in the development of ClayTracer. It was a highly constructive collaboration, and we were able to use thousands of shots to train our Machine Learning (AI) system. Now the application is available and being installed in various Italian shooting ranges under the supervision of FITAV, which has entrusted us with a pilot project. We are very grateful to the federation for this opportunity.»
